Hey guys! This weeks blog post is a guest blog post from Cristina Nika Kask! I have never done anything like this before, but I hope you enjoy this post!
Having beautiful skin like from the cover of a magazine need not be a pipe dream. All you need to do is to have some patience and learn these tricks that will help you to take back control over your skin. And keep it under control for as long as needed.
If we take a look at some famous actresses with perfect skin and take their advice we will learn that most of them use natural products, such as honey and olive oil treatments to achieve the same effect, but affordable.
If you are a smoker, the best way of protecting your skin from premature wrinkles and drying out is to – quit smoking ASAP. It is said that smoking comes hand in hand with stress, so try to reduce stress levels and eat healthier diet because change should come from within. This implies eating a lot of vegetables and fruit which are rich in vitamin C and poor in fats, which will make your skin look younger.
Walnuts, for example, are rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, strong anti-inflammatory agents, and broccoli are loaded with vitamin C, which is a powerful antioxidant. Berries too are good for fighting inflammation and in protecting against age-induced oxidative stress.
The first step in skin care is getting to know your skin. No, literally, you have to know what type of skin you have in order to help it and keep it healthy. There are four basic skin types: oily, dry, sensitive and combination. And all of them demand different care. For example, what every healthy skin needs is a routine – cleaning it before bedtime thoroughly from daily dirt and sweat. After that, you should moisturise it and apply the preferred acne treatment to prevent inflammation of pores and the development of acne. However, this order will depend on the type of your skin.
Make sure always to use the products which are rich in minerals, antioxidans and vitamins, and a good example would be Jane Iredale cosmetics that provide your skin with just that.
Oily skin, which has a lot of sebum which causes acne in combination with different factors, should be treated first with a mild cleanser, then with acne treatment and then with a moisturiser; whereas dry skin should be treated with cleanser, moisturiser and with acne treatment in the end, to prevent too much retinol entering the skin. Sensitive skin, too, will need exfoliation once in a while, and combination should be treated with special treatment and doing facial once in a while.
But one thing is in common for all skin types – applying SPF should come last if you have decided to go out in the sun. Sun protection is one of the most important ways of protecting skin, be it during summer or winter months. Do not fool yourself into thinking that UV rays cannot harm you during winter months, because they can. You should also avoid going out into the sun in the period from 10 am to 16 pm, when the sunrays are the strongest, and if you have to, always wear protective clothing with long-sleeved shirts, long pants and protect your head with hats.
Hope you guys enjoyed this different post! Happy easter holidays!xox

This is so insightful! I've been using an Origins cleanser and toner, with Dermalogica Clear Start acne spot treatment, and Clinique moisturizer! Sometimes I use the Om Aroma carrot rose serum (their products are natural) too! It's made my skin so soft and I love it <3
